News: Texas Bay Credit Union Connects Nearly 8,500 People to Free Financial Education

HOUSTON, Texas – Texas Bay Credit Union is proud to announce that nearly 8,500 users have accessed free financial education through its partnership with Zogo, an app that helps people gain financial knowledge, confidence, and independence.

There are over 1,200 learning modules on topics ranging from budgeting and saving to credit management and investing, and rewards users as they learn and work toward their personal goals.

“As a young adult, I love using Zogo to learn how to handle money for the short term and long term,” says one user. “I also love earning while learning, especially because those small rewards help cover fun expenses in college that I don’t have to spend my money on and save for necessities.”

When asked about their financial goals for the year, 34.50% of users accessing the platform through Texas Bay cited paying down debt. Another 21.48% hope to begin investing, while 18.17% are focused on saving for a major purchase.

Texas Bay believes financial education is essential for achieving any form of financial success. By providing access to this learning platform, the credit union is helping both members and non-members confidently make financial decisions and move closer to their goals every day.

The results have exceeded expectations. Users of all knowledge levels, including beginners, often share how effective the learning experience is for them. “I’ve learned so much in a short period,” says one. “I’m shocked at how much I didn’t know,” says another.

This is one of several free educational resources available through Texas Bay. The credit union also offers financial wellness checks and budgeting workbooks, for example, to help residents of the Greater Houston area understand and improve their financial well-being.

These programs reflect Texas Bay's ongoing commitment to member service and member education. By making financial learning resources accessible to all, the credit union seeks to empower its members and the communities it serves to achieve financial freedom.
